CouchCritic launches! Appstem’s newest app gives you movie and TV show recommendations from friends
It’s 2018. Isn’t it time you got movie recommendations from people you know and trust? Movie recommendations from friends are down right cosy; bring us closer to our peeps, and even define who we are. What’s not to like? This newly launching app solves one of the biggest problems with entertainment: relevant ratings and reviews of movies and TV shows from people with the same taste as you, or people who know you don’t like Roseanne. Star ratings? IMBD ratings? Long diatribes from people you don’t know? They can only take you so far. There’s no real context. Yet, when friends tell you to watch something, it’s personal. Suddenly, there’s a whole new dimension and meaning to a review that’s backed by everything you know about that friend, for better or worse. The app’s recommendations work by enabling you to follow people you know or friends-of-friends. It cleverly aggregates content from all different content providers, such as Netflix, Hulu, HBO, etc., offering suggestions on “where to watch” with direct links to the exact content you want from the leading streaming content providers, all built right into the app. This removes the friction of having to figure out where to find something that’s been recommended. It also has the potential of becoming a great affiliate model for CouchCritic.
The app also enables users to have a remarkably robust search experience, which requires access to a massive, all-inclusive movie, TV, and video library. Appstem was a great choice due to their extensive database experience.
Ready to try the next big thing in movie recommendations? Go ahead, be a critic! CouchCritic is available now in the Apple App Store.
