OpenTreatment Personal Health Record App Goes Live

Finally, you can kiss that hospital clipboard goodbye.

Today, OpenTreatment Personal Health Record (PHR), a revolutionary new personal health record healthcare app, went live in the iTunes Appstore today, Appstem is proud to announce, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Here’s how it works. The OpenTreatment app keeps your Personal Health Record on file, and you can easily forward it to any hospital or doctor at the touch of a virtual button. That increases on-time appointments, keeps you from having to write down your entire medical history on a tiny clipboard yet again, and saves the office staff time so they can focus on what’s important: like that sprained ankle of yours.

If you need a doctor on the go, you can instantly find the closest ER hospitals, private practices, physicians, and even dentists near your location. You can see the wait times at emergency rooms in real time, so you know you will actually be seen and not stuck reading old magazines from the ‘90s in the waiting room.

Before you even get to the hospital, you can send ahead any X-rays and lab results to your doctor.

Meanwhile, healthcare professionals can verify insurance eligibility 24 hours a day, and easily integrate OpenTreatment with their current websites. The app is certified HIPAA compliant, which is a fancy way of saying the app and your privacy are secure. All pictures and files you send will disappear 24 hours later, like the SnapChat of healthcare.

As for the technical mumbo jumbo, Appstem designed the OpenTreatment app from the ground up, from wireframes to final product. We developed the front end as well as the backend using Python. We developed the database, APIs, and the web portal. The backend we created using Parse.
